"If you ever plan to motor west..." again...

The first one was so fun, it just had to be done again. This series of pictures is from the cruise in 1999. A little smaller group this time, but no less mischief.

You gotta love the folks in Vega. They actually made a banner for the club! Never was there a more friendly bunch. Here are the fearless visiting contestants holding their ammo.

This is a great shot of the 3 different color birds lined up at the halfway marker for Route 66 in the Texas panhandle.
Dennis apparently likes to supplement his diet with a mouthful of mosquitos and moths. (Maybe hard to tell in this pic, but his mouth is wide open.)

There are parts of Route 66 that aren't even paved as seen in this view.

No birds in this pic, but the beauty of the scenery of Route 66 had to be captured here. This is Window Rock near Gallup, NM. Capital of the Navajo nation.

And from this pic you can see that Hugh's mind resembles Window Rock -- there's something missing...

This trip was at times taxing for the little birds. Here you can see that they have climbed over 1 mile in altitude.

Bob, Dennis, and Hugh posing in front of one of the many breathtaking sights. This one at Sandia.

Here is the teepee village in Arizona at which the party spent a couple of nights.

Hugh wondering just how a margarita machine might fit through that doorway.

Here is the crew celebrating their return to Texas outside El Paso after many many miles. Unfortunately for them, they have many many more miles left to go.

A good pic of the whole gang.
