October Meeting
|
|
The October meeting location was changed
at the last minute to the All Thunderbird Picnic, organized by Al Richmond
and held at the New Kentucky Park near Tomball. Since
"Volleyball" is my new middle name, I was unable to attend.
I understand the weather was very nice, and hopefully, the turn out was
large.

If you are interested in serving your
club, let Marc Markel know. We
need to fill the Treasurer position, as Louise Bickford has served in that
capacity for 2 years. I can hear her sobs now.

CTCI Director
|
|
You should have received
your CTCI ballot in the last issue of your Early Bird. I would highly
recommend that you vote for Sandra Hood for Director at Large. She is
one of the most qualified TBird fanatics around. --Hugh
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My name is Sandra Hood and I am
announcing my candidacy for CTCI Director-at-Large. If you are a
member of CTCI, sometime this month you will be receiving your Early Bird
and I would like to ask you to read my resume and if you feel that I am
qualified to represent the members of CTCI on the Board of Directors, then
I would appreciate your vote and support in the upcoming election. I
have been a member of CTCI and my local club, the Big D Little Birds of
Dallas since 1979 and a member of the San Antonio Club for several
years and served as CTCI Director of Region 5 for four years and
FoMoCo Liaison Officer for one year. I have attended every board
meeting in California since 1991. My husband, CL Hood, and I have driven our
T-bird to all of the international conventions and many regionals since
1980. I am active in concours judging and have attained a Senior
Master level. It is my desire to work toward improved and more
specific goals that will enhance CTCI's members and chapters and promote
good communication between the board of directors and all CTCI
members. I strongly feel that all CTCI members be informed of the
Board of Directors' decisions throughout the year. I would like to
see CTCI provide an updated roster to every member each year instead of
every two years and I would like to see the return of the chapter
newsletter contest. These are just a few issues but most important I
will represent you and/or your club with ideas to continue making CTCI an
organization that we are proud to be a member of. Again, I
would appreciate your support and vote but please take time to vote for the
candidate of your choice.
Looking for P6FH 304740
|
|
From the Classic
Thunderbird email digest comes the following:
"Will" <wmyers2@ix.netcom.com>
Subject: Looking for his T-bird
All,
I have a friend who ordered a new 56 T-bird from the factory in 1956. He is
curious to know if it is still around and would like to locate it. He
bought it in Wichita Kansas June 12, 1956. The vehicle code number is
40AEXC5FKS214 and the serial number is P6FH-304740. It was all white with a
312 engine a 4-barrel and standard shift and overdrive. He is about
6'-4" tall and had installed extra fasteners to move the seat further
back. He sold the car in Houston Texas. If anyone knows of the car, please
let me know and I will get you in touch with him. He still has the original
paper work and would be glad to pass on what he knows about the history of
the car.
A lady walks into a drug
store and tells the pharmacist she needs some cyanide. The pharmacist said,
"Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady then explained
she needed it to poison her husband. The pharmacist's eyes got big and he
said, "Lord have mercy, I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband!
That's against the law!" They'll throw both of us in jail and I'll
lose my license. Then the lady reached into her purse and pulled out a
picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife and handed it to
the pharmacist. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied,
"Well now, you didn't tell me you had a prescription."
