| Moulton Days
Jamboree |
Hi,
folks. The Moulton Days Jamboree is coming up at the end of
July, the last full weekend as a mater of fact. I’m inviting the
club to be in the parade as we are taking the PIE contest Judges as
we have done in the past. We are one of the first in the parade and
drop the judges off where they do they’re hard work of tasting all
THAT pie. Hugh Jackson knows as he is a Judge. The
contest raised over $16,000.00 last year for
scholarships.
If you are interested in driving other
pie judges in the parade, please let Dennis know ASAP so he can get
you registered.
I would like for you
all to make plans to come out on Saturday morning to the Vickers'
home as they have offered there fine country place close to
Hallettsville to have a Bar-B-Q and a day of fun and kicking tires
and some country roads to drive. I’m sure we can find something to
do for that good ole Saturday night, maybe the drive inn move. For a
place to sleep I’m checking the no-tell motels around Hallettsville
area where Bob and Alice live. It will be on July 24 & 25. The
parade is on Sunday at 11:00 AM. So if you’re
interested at this early date let me know. dbaetz@gvec.net or
361-596-4657. For more information, see www.moultontexas.com.
See Ya Dennis & Duckie |

Festival |

LOOKIN' for something to do in September? The third
Saturday in September (the 18th) is the KOLACHEFEST in
Hallettsville. There will be a parade, car show, and a lot of
country doins. You may also do the drive-in movie located between
Hallettsville & Shiner. Let me know if you would like to
do this and I will make the arrangements. Alice and I can
accommodate 4 couples or singles and the rest can pitch tents, stay
in motels or whatever. Just let me know what you would like to
do. Bob Vickers |

A filthy
rich man in North Carolina decided that he wanted to throw a party
and invited all of his buddies and neighbors. He
also invited Leroy, the only redneck in
the neighborhood.
He held the party around the pool in the
backyard of his mansion. Everyone was having a good time drinking,
dancing, eating shrimp, oysters and BBQ and flirting
with the women.
At the height of the party, the host said, "I
have a 10ft man-eating gator in my pool and I'll give a million
dollars to
anyone who has the guts to jump in."
The words were barely
out of his mouth when there was a loud splash and everyone turned
around and saw Leroy in the pool!
Leroy was fighting the
gator and kicking its tail! Leroy was jabbing the gator in the eyes
with his thumbs, throwing punches, head butts and choke holds, biting the gator on the tail
and flipping the gator through the air like some kind of Judo
Instructor.
The water was churning and splashing everywhere.
Both Leroy and the gator were screaming and raising hell.
Finally Leroy strangled the gator and let it float to the top
like a K-mart goldfish. Leroy then slowly climbed out of the pool.
Everybody was just staring at him in disbelief.
Finally the
host says, "Well, Leroy, I reckon I owe you a million
dollars."
"No, that's okay. I don't want it," said
Leroy.
The rich man said, "Man, I have to give you
something. You won the bet. How about half a million bucks
then?"
"No thanks. I don't want it," answered
Leroy.
The host said, "Come on, I insist on giving you
something. That was amazing. How about a new Porsche and a Rolex
and some stock options?"
Again Leroy said no.
Confused, the rich man asked,
"Well, Leroy, then what do you want?"
Leroy said, "I want the
name of the sumbitch who pushed me in
the pool." | |
