Here's a continental kit on a 2002 Thunderbird.  Very unusual, don't you think?

In this month's issue:

Happy New Year!

A Message from the President

I am looking forward to serving as your president in 2005.  On behalf of the Club, I wish to thank Marc Markel for his work as our past president.  Our Christmas party was a great event thanks to all the Tbirders who attended and especially to Marc who so graciously secured a superb caterer and location for the event. Also, thanks to Betty Morris for organizing the table decorations.

In January 2004, Marc opened the year with:

“Now for the rest of 2004. I need your help. I have heard from many of our members that we do not ever do anything, but when an event is scheduled only 10-12 cars show up for a well attended event. This year is up to you. Traditionally, at the beginning of the year the board of directors meet and when the smoke comes out of the tail pipe the calendar is set for that year. This year it will be a little different. At the location for this months meeting, after our normal eat and discuss current events, we will continue our meeting to set the schedule for the rest of the year. It is my desire that you each bring with you your ideas for tours, parades, meeting locations so that the decisions will be made together.”

We scheduled many interesting events but still had not more than 10 – 12 cars show up.  This year I suggest we use the same excellent list of activities we developed last year, issue the list the last week in January for tentative participation sign-up, collect the list for review and planning, and discuss our plans for 2005 in the February meeting.

See you all at our monthly meeting on Sunday, January 16.

May you have fair winds and following seas (or at least keep her between the ditches)

Bill

Christmas Party and December Meeting
It was a cold night, just right to dress up and enjoy our Christmas party.  Thanks to Marc & Mimi Markel for arranging our party place and dinner.  The lobby of Marc's building was perfect for us, and the food from Lasagna House III was outstanding.  We got an early start, and dug right in to the wonderful Italian food.  No sooner had we finished eating than Marc pounded the gavel, elected the new officers, passed the traditional hideous ties on to the new president, and proclaimed "Let the gift exchange begin."  Our new president, Diesel Bill McBride, offered some words of wisdom.  Steve Rubin is our new VP, Wyndham Smith is our new Treasurer (so send in your dues), and Al Eisenberg is our new Secretary.  Get involved with your Club this year, and participate in some fun events in our 50 year old cars!

Tail Lights
Deep in the back woods of Tennessee, a hillbilly's wife went into labor in the middle of the night, and the doctor was called out to assist in the delivery.  Since there was no electricity, the doctor handed the father-to-be a lantern and said, "Here. You hold this high so I can see what I am doing!"  Soon, a baby boy was brought into the world.

"Whoa there", said the doctor, "Don't be in such a rush to put that lantern down.  I think there's another one coming." Sure enough, within minutes he had delivered a baby girl.

"Hold that lantern up, don't set it down. There's another one!" said the doctor.  Within a few minutes he had delivered a third baby.

"No, don't be in a hurry to put down that lantern, it seems there's yet another one coming!" cried the doctor.

The redneck scratched his head in bewilderment, and asked the doctor, "You reckon it might be the light that's attractin' 'em?"
